Style Maines started in 1996 with the purchase of a red Maine bull from the Kolhauser herd to cross with our commercial cattle in the hopes that we could raise some show steers for our sons to show in 4-H. We loved those first calves so much with the ease in calving right through to fall selling when the calves weighed 60lbs on average more than our calves did the previous years. We were sold! I then realized that I could register the percentage cattle and breed the kind of cattle I wanted until we had purebreds.

Today Style Maines is a family operation with Jerry, Val and our two sons, Dustin and Cass Brown. We enjoy showing our cattle and having people come to see them at our farm. We have about 60 head of registered cattle consisting of blacks and reds. We keep our top bull calves to sell each spring on our farm and a few select heifer calves for sale and replacement. We use A.I. bloodlines, along with Champion bloodlines for cleanup bulls.
Our goal is to produce quality maines that are moderate in frame, low in birthweight and performance generated.
We are located six miles north (on grid #674) of Cut Knife and one and a half miles west (TWP RD 45-0) on the north side of the road. We invite you to give us a call or stop in and see the cattle. The coffee is always on!
